We are working with several clients in the Nassau County area who are looking for Medical Coders to work on their team. These positions are full-time positions and offer very competitive salaries.The primary duties and responsibilities are:● Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures in order to ensure proper financial reimbursement from insurance companies● Review claims data to ensure that assigned codes meet required legal and insurance rules and that required signatures are in place prior to submission● Review, and correct coding related denials, and rejections● Communicate with providers as needed to clarify clinical data to ensure accurate coding● Maintain knowledge of ICD9, ICD10 and CPT coding● Demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively● Maintaining high levels of compassion and professionalism to everyone while adhering to company policy and protocolQualifications:● High School diploma, GED or Equivalent Required● CPC, or CCS coding certification required● Expert knowledge of Evaluation and Management Coding (E/M)● Medical Terminology knowledge required● Must be detail oriented● Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) credential is a plus!
