  • Full-Time Physician Assistant wanted for our family medicine clinic.

    This position supports the Physicians and is essential for the success of the ministry by providing medical care to patients using established standards of care and practices within the scope of their license.

    This position is divided into two levels depending upon the skill sets particular to that skill level.

    Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
    Complete History and Physical information on patients.
    Interprets and integrates data for diagnostic purposes.
    Performs complete exams and collaborates with physicians in patient management.
    Orders appropriate treatment of patients including injections, medications, therapy, etc.
    Handles patient communication, i.e., letters, forms, telephone calls.
    Provides emergency care as designated by protocol and physician orders.
    Provides continuity of care to patients within the practice.
    Maintains patient confidentiality.
    Attends required meetings and participation on committees as requested.
    Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
    May perform other duties as assigned or requested.
    Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to deliver patient care.
    Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
    Knowledge of common safety hazards.
    Knowledge of Health Care Theory.
    May perform other duties as assigned or requested

    Management Responsibilities:
    This position has no management responsibilities.

    Qualifications:
    Education and/or Experience
    Must have graduated from a recognized University/College.
    Must have successfully completed an approved Physician Assistant Program and be in possession of a current certificate of accreditation.
    Must have successfully passed NY licensing examination.

    Must proficiently complete the electronic medical record program.

    Working Conditions:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequenting exposed to blood, body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, and sharp objects potentially contaminated with blood borne pathogens or other infectious agents.
    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    Typical medical or hospital environment.


    Position Scope/Patient Population:
    This position has direct patient contact that provides care to neonate, newborn, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
