PHYSICAL THERAPIST – FULL TIME
Lawrence Physical Therapy, a locally owned private facility is looking for a Physical Therapist. This position requires experience with a salary dependent on level of education and past experience. We are looking for someone with an upbeat personality, who is organized and passionate about helping others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

In accordance with physicians’ orders, the Physical Therapist assesses, evaluates, plans and carries out physical therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function and to minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities. Position tasks and responsibilities include:

Plans and uses therapies involving physical exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity.
Utilizes various mechanical and electrical equipment and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Evaluates , and reports on patient’s response to treatment and progress toward identified goals.
Integrates physical therapy treatments with other aspects of patient care.
Assists patients reach their maximal reasonably levels of function and to cope with their limitations.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Instructs and educates patients and families.
Participates in patient discharge planning.
Orients and mentors new staff members.
Provides age and culturally appropriate care
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
B.S, M.S, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
NY State licensure as a Physical Therapist
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
2-4 years minimum experience required
Obtain CPR Certification within 90 days of employment.
Exhibit a dynamic, caring, enthusiastic, fun spirited personality.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or requirement up to 50 pounds.
Maybe exposed to body fluids.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

$70,000 – 90,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)
