Vice President Healthcare Communications, New YorkOur client is looking for a well-rounded Vice President of Healthcare for their New York office. They need a dynamic, performance driven professional with a passionate eye for healthcare communications. Experience with Oncology, Cardiology and Pharmaceuticals is preferred, but let's face it , it's HC Comms - there aren't a lot of people qualified to do this!Your experience navigating through the FDA Approval process and previous work on Regulatory Milestone communications will be called on in this critical role. Past successes with new product launches, issues and crisis management and disease awareness and prevention is also important. You should have a demonstrated ability to simplify messaging and bring clarity to complex brands. Change the marketplace.Responsibilities Include: § Lead program development and execution§ Manage multiple client projects in a fast-paced environment§ Develop media recommendations targeting trade, general media and online media channels§ Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels.§ Strong industry and practice knowledge§ Stay current on client's business and understand competitive landscape§ Develop creative and strategic plans for servicing clients, growing existing client business§ Ensure that all program objectives are understood and executed§ Provide proactive media counsel and creative recommendations.§ Support the development of client proposals and media materials: plans, presentations, reports, communications documents.§ Strong Media Relations skills; proven track record working with media and placing stories§ Contribute to the management of client budgets; oversee the client budget development, tracking, billing and communications.§ Lead, mentor and develop junior account staff§ Manage team assignments and provide feedback to improve, sharpen and focus the work Requirements:§ 6+ years comparable healthcare experience with a Communications agency or in-house equivalent.§ 3+ years supervisory experience§ Proven track record in client service, PR strategy development & execution, creativity, new business pitches / presentations, § Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to develop media material and be creative with communications plans.§ Knowledge and understanding of the FDA regulatory process and experience working through all pre- and post- approval phases of a drug launch. § Keen understanding of the role of digital media in integrated communications strategies.§ Ability to develop relationships with third party organizations, physicians and caregivers, and to attend external meetings and events representing the agency and client (medical conferences, third party events, etc.).§ Fluent in reading data and translating to strategic insights§ Strong organization and project management abilities; ability to juggle, think quickly and make independent decisions.§ Clearly define roles of team members and providing guidance and tools to facilitate goal achievement.§ Be skilled at applied strategic thinking; anticipating issues, trends, and connections, and translating those insights into actionable ideas for the client.§ Effective problem solving abilities: candidate can get things moving, keep them on track, and understands how to switch gears when needed.§ Results-focused approach and client-centric in their approach§ Team oriented - must be willing to roll up sleeves and work in the trenches. § A self-starter who is positive, proactive, and resourceful.
