Base salary up to $40,000 - $55,000 plus excellent benefits and paid OT

Summary:

A global law firm is seeking a Paralegal with Native Japanese language skills. This Paralegal will assist attorneys working with multinational corporations on immigration-related corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate start-ups and global workforce mobility matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist three attorneys with all matters of U.S. immigration and nationality law, regulations, policy, and compliance for Japanese clients in the U.S. and Japan
Utilize Japanese language skills to communicate with client legal teams and human resources departments
Perform due diligence investigations; analyze immigration status of employees
Draft and file applications necessary to maintain each employee's status
Create, write content for and edit documents, memorandum and presentations in Japanese to be sent to clients
Translate written and verbal communication between legal team and clients
Conduct research on global workforce mobility issues and immigration considerations related to Mergers & Acquisitions and other corporate restructurings
Support Partner and legal practice group with organizing and filing all documentation to be used in the design and implementation of customized visa strategies and immigration programs for Japanese clients

Required Skills:

Fluent Native Japanese Verbal Language Skills
Ability to write in properly-styled Japanese
1-4 years of legal administrative and/or paralegal experience; immigration preferred
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Japanese Corporate Business Etiquette
Experience working with nonimmigrant and immigrant employment-based immigration law, regulations, policy and compliance is a HUGE plus
Bachelor's degree
