Duties include processing and logging in incoming emails, faxes and mail and distributing to appropriate staff members; opening new matters; preparing correspondence to clients reporting various PTO communications; running daily docket reports for attorneys; preparing docket status reports for clients and attorneys as needed; pulling and distributing files based on work assignments; corresponding with clients regarding payment of maintenance fees; recording patent and trademark assignments; assisting in checking and updating status of patent cases at U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Candidate should have working knowledge of IP docketing systems (CPi); working knowledge of intellectual property principles and practices; and familiarity with rules and procedures at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
