The CMDB documents the IT and Change estate (including inter-component dependencies) and provides a foundation for Incident, Problem and Change Management activities. It is populated using a combination of automatic discovery tools and manual updates by designated data owners.IT Change Management team provides the framework and process to ensure all changes made to the productions environment are documented, controlled and technically appropriate to implemented in to the production environment.Working in conjunction with the CMDB Data owners, and under the direction of the CMDB Manager, you will provide overall governance for the data held within the CMDB and provide support for the UK based IT Change Management Team. This will be achieved by establishing and enforcing the CMDB Change Management process, resolving automated discovery issues, data and ownership conflicts. Although the updating of the CMDB is delegated to specific data owners, overall responsibility for the data quality and its fit for purpose rests with the CMDB Manager and their team.What will your essential responsibilities include?Assist the CMDB Manager in ensuring that the CMDB accurately reflects the XL Catlin IT and Change technical estate and to ensure that this data is maintained to a high standard.Help to ensure the CMDB Management process is adhered to.Working in conjunction with Infrastructure engineering to ensure that the CMDB Data model truly reflects the IT and Change estate.Working in conjunction with CMDB Data owners to ensure that the CMDB Data content truly reflects the IT and Change estate including all interdependencies between the individual components.Resolving conflicts relating to ownership of individual components.Resolving conflicts relating to data accuracy.Pro-actively work with other teams to ensure that the CMDB is seen as the single point of information relating to CMDB InformationAssist the IT Change Management team in managing changes into the production environment, ensuring the correct process has been followed and the all technical approvals has been achieved before Implementation.Coordination with the Release Manager to ensure software releases are managed in line with the change process.Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts in business teams.Provide reports on statistics as required for management and KPI publication.Pro-actively identify and resolve issues with individual changes, the change management tool and change management processProvide cover for the Chair of the Change Advisory Board, including assisting in organising and scheduled meetingsHelp maintain a change calendar and forward schedule of changeSupport technical staff in obtaining appropriate approval for changes in a timely manner.
