Scope of WorkOur Client, a major television broadcast network is looking for qualified Post Production Maintenance Engineer - Broadcast IT who will be responsible for the support of both Live and post production operations.Responsibilities Will operate within the Post-Production DepartmentImplementation of a routine preventative maintenance, including software and hardware updatesBasic Ethernet and Fiber channel networkingProficient at communicating both problems and solutions to technical and non-technical personnel alike and will help develop new processes, technologies and techniques which will help to improve the running of the facilityKnowledge of Linux based servers and Dell systems is a plusEligibility Requirements Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short noticeAbility to work evening shifts preferredMust be willing to submit to a background investigationMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust be 18 years or olderQualifications Minimum two (2) years of experience in the technical support of a Post Production Facility or similar operationBS degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education/experienceExperience with Avid Post Production environments essential, including bu tnot limited to Media Composer, ISIS, Interplay, Unity and Symphony.Final Cut Pro and EVS knowledge a plusAvid ACSR not required but preferredStrong understanding of Apple OS X, Microsoft Windows 7 and Server Operating Systems.Experience and understanding of computer networks, including hardware and infrastructure, protocols and firewalls in a production environmentExperience and understanding of data transfer (WAN) acceleration systems such as Aspera, Signiant and SFTPDesired Characteristics Good problem solving and client communication skills are essential for this roleAdditional skill requirements:Position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a cool, level headed individual who works well under the pressures of live televisionExcellent written and verbal communication as well as client skillsAdobe Production Premium suite, including Adobe After Effects and PhotoshopAbility and desire to learn new production technologiesPossess strong hands-on, problem solving skills with broadcast-related equipment and systems, with the ability to meet deadlines, and with an understanding of the urgent and dynamic needs of an “On-Air” broadcast facility
