Job Title:Wells Fargo Sec BankerJob ID Number:5272482-1Location:New York,NYJob Description:Job Description The Market Structure & Electronic Trading Services team within Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) is responsible for providing thought leadership to both internal and external clients helping drive change in reaction to external landscape developments and regulatory reform. As a part of this practice, the team is also responsible for Strategic Investments in financial technology related private companies helping to position Wells Fargo Securities for continued leadership in evolving markets and creating increased future profitability as well as operating efficiencies across its businesses. This Director role will interact regularly with external market participants and various internal constituents. The person will be expected to source strategic private equity type transactions, drive the execution of ideas/deals, lead negotiations relative to the strategic investments where appropriate and understand market structure. Additionally, the role will need to identify opportunities to enhance and improve platform wide processes and procedures. Responsibilities Advise on strategic alternatives and recommendations facing WFS in support of departmental and divisional initiatives Provide a high-level perspective to frame issues, business considerations and alternatives for business leader decisions Prepare and deliver recommendations to business leaders and their organizations, as well as to related cross-functional support teams Independently source deal flow Present business cases and recommendations to desk heads and senior executives Collaborate with corporate development team to conduct due diligence on potential opportunities Conduct market sizing and competitive analyses for potential investment opportunities Assist in developing financial models and valuations for all opportunities Work with the core team to structure, negotiate and execute investment agreements Provide COO support and assistance in managing the portfolio of strategic investments as well as individual portfolio companies commercial relationships with WFS Facilitate Strategic Investment Council meetings in support of new initiatives as well as current portfolio companies as necessary Own quarterly investment reporting process for all portfolio companies including gathering required company information, report preparation and final submission Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company.They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in capital markets, industry experience within the specific sector of the position, or a combination of both Desired Qualifications Strong analytical and quantitative skillsEffective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills Other Desired Qualifications 10+ years of experience working in the financial services industry; excellent financial acumen 5 years of Strategic Investment experience Ability to collaborate with and potentially influence various senior business leaders and key stakeholders Candidate must have solid relationships within Market Structure & Strategic Investment community (e.g. Banks, Non-Banks, Buy Side, Vendors, Private Equity, etc.) Strong knowledge of Fintech and an understanding of the companies participating in the various electronic trading markets Good understanding of the current functioning of the various electronic trading markets Market Structure knowledge across asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, Futures, etc.) Knowledge of Fixed Income Electronic Trading Understanding of electronic trading workflow and clearing processes, market liquidity dynamics, funding/financing, and operational risk/compliance Desire and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners Self-starter behavior and able to recognize and act on opportunities which will create improvement in the business Exceptional organization, analytical, and documentation skills.
