About the Opportunity An established nonprofit organization located in New York City is actively seeking a self-motivated and dynamic Accountant, with a strong Real Estate Operations background, for a promising Senior role on their staff. Directly supporting the Senior Vice President of Strategic Finance, the Real Estate Operations Senior Accountant monitors, reports and analyzes the financial reporting and accounting for the company and its related entities.Company Description Nonprofit OrganizationJob Description The Real Estate Operations Senior Accountant will: Prepare analysis of future and current developers fee Assist in the preparation of proposals for potential affordable housing projects Allocate various costs such as property and liability insurance Periodically perform internal audits of managing agents work Prepare and maintain work papers for various monthly roll forward and other schedules, on a monthly basis Assist with all external audits of the organization and related entity's financial statements as performed by various independent auditors Complete DFTA reporting, SOFA reporting, Claims Conference billing, and Intercompany Billings Communicate with other program accounting staff as needed in order to complete aforementioned reports Attend meetings as needed and requested by Controller and CFO Perform other duties as required or assigned Required Skills Bachelor's Degree 3-5+ years of hands-on property accounting experience Polished and professional demeanor Experience in MS Word, MS PowerPoint MS Excel Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents Desired Skills CPA Knowledge of MIP /Sage general ledger software
