IC Brazil The role that will involve covering approximately 30-40 clients directly in a senior capacity where the candidate chosen will be expected to lead the region's growth in investment revenue and AUMs with Ultra High Net Worth clients. She or he will be experienced in constructing and overseeing investment portfolios as well as in delivering advice and guidance on markets and actionable investment ideas. Appropriate candidates will possess the credibility to cultivate trusting & productive relationships with key partners throughout CPB and the broader Citi. They will be entrepreneurial and capable of bringing in new clients/investment management mandates to the bank. They will have an exceptional understanding of, and ability to communicate, the full range of investment themes, products and services Citi Private Bank offers to clients, including, though not limited to, capital market solutions, and traditional and alternative investments. Candidates for this position will be able to instill collaborative and team-oriented behavior, and to leverage a wide array of product and other specialists, as well as other divisions within Citigroup, to broaden investment relationships and add the most value to clients. The candidate will understand how to align products and other investment solutions with asset allocation targets, risk management parameters and client goals. . As the CPB and Citi product platforms are unusually broad and deep, the candidate must have a strong ability to work with experienced ICs and colleagues in the best ways to apply products to serve clients. CPB employs a team-based client coverage model, and the candidate will demonstrate an ability to partner very closely and effectively with management colleagues in order to coach, support and motivate client-facing professionals. Demonstrating such partnership with others ICs in the region, other product leaders in Investments and beyond, is essential. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: • Function as the primary client contact and trusted investment advisor for clients, including direct selling , determining suitability, identifying product specific opportunities, portfolio advice and after sales execution (in partnership with the Banker team) • Implement a strategic advisory approach to account planning, focusing on the investment relationship in partnership with the Banker • Arrange and lead regular (quarterly) investment and business reviews with assigned clients • Provide clients with direct access to trading desks where appropriate • Actively look for cross sell opportunities in others areas of the bank, in particular lending, trust and institutional markets solutions, etc. • Partner with Bankers to prospect for new investment business SUITABILITY, RISK MANAGEMENT & CONTROLS: • Understand the investment needs of assigned clients (i.e. return expectation, risk appetite, time horizon, liquidity needs, etc.) and ensure that positions are in line with client risk profiles. • Minimize the client's and Private Bank's exposure to risk by observing suitability policies and by monitoring and communicating changes in the client's financial condition as well as industry and economic trends • Observe suitability and credit polices at the point of client transactions for trade approval PORTFOLIO ADVICE: • Recommend strategic and tactical asset allocation in line with CPB's house view • Oversee and coordinate the portfolio construction and implementation of investment mandates across all appropriate internal resources such as the Investment Lab, Capital Market Specialists, Managed Investment Specialists, etc. • Provide direct and active ongoing portfolio advice to assigned client CLIENT ADVISORY SKILLS: • Uncover needs that are not clearly expressed by the client • Be able to advise and influence clients, overcome objections and demonstrate the confidence to close significant business. COMMUNICATION: • Lead investment discussions and presentations in one-on-one settings, in small groups, and with larger audiences. • Communicate complex technical details in a manner that is easily understood and consistent with the level of sophistication of the client or sales team member • Command the diplomacy and influence skills necessary to build partnerships and succeed in a highly decentralized, matrix, overlapping and entrepreneurial business model • Demonstrates resilience and ability to thrive and deliver results in a high pressure, global, rapidly changing and often ambiguous environment WEEKLY SALES CALLS: • Lead investments discussion in weekly sales meetings with banker teams and bring investment ideas relevant to current market conditions and product offerings • Educate Bankers and other members of the sales team to increase knowledge and proficiency in product area. • Share client success with all team members involved. Seek to align product specialty goals with the goals of Bankers and other Product Specialists. • Deepen internal relationships with members of the sales team by being adaptable and responsive to the needs of others and placing team objectives ahead of personal gain. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capital Markets • Knowledge of and ability to communicate capital markets strategies (equity, fixed income, FX derivatives, rates, credit, structured products) with clients. • Knowledge of volatility and correlation driven strategies across asset classes - pricing of options, volatility, skew, etc. • Display broad base of execution skills, having successfully completed a range of complex capital markets transactions; able to place trades on behalf of the client • Ability to distill Citi research into a coherent theme, trend or trade idea • Ability to interpret markets from both a sentiment and valuation context • Understand what drives valuation in different asset classes - FX, equities, credit, rates • Knowledge of executing various balance sheet and financing strategies. • A keen ability and focus on risk mitigation and hedging risk on behalf of the client Managed Investments Demonstrate a firm understanding of Managed Investments, with a strong ability to explain and implement asset allocation and individual asset classes with respect to their specific characteristics and within the context of a client portfolio. • Expertise in Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds • Ability to implement advisory and discretionary investment mandates. • Articulate and advocate the house view of Citi and CPB, as well as the investments Citi recommends, while matching the appropriate investment opportunities with the client's profile. General • Maintain an in-depth understanding of product specialty, economic events and best practices within the industry • Understand broader Citi ICG and Citi Private Bank product offerings including: trusts, custody, banking and creditQualifications• Minimum of Bachelor's degree. • Ideally, 10 or more years of relevant experience. • Ideally, Series 7, 63 and 65 certification or equivalent. • CFA, CAIA, MBA degree or other advanced degree a plus.
