Our small private state-certified special education school (40 students, grades 3-12 in Stamford CT) is seeking a f/t Behavior Therapist to work with students with special needs (autism, Aspergers, ADHD, etc.). You'll enjoy working in a collaborative environment, managing student behaviors in both 1:1 and small group settings. In this position , you will work with your assigned student(s) to provide therapeutic support and guidance, in line with ABA principles, including:• Develop behavior plans of action to address students' needs• Work with and support teachers in integrating behavior plans into classrooms• Partner with other staff (clinical, teaching, support) to determine student's needs and utilize appropriate resources to ensure student success• Interface with parents and internal/external clinicians and public school staff (for district-placed students) to ensure that student is 'tracking' appropriately/according to plan.Requirements include:• BCBA or BcaBA degree required• Min. 2 years' experience working with students on the autism spectrum• NY or CT teaching certification in Special Education highly desirable• Familiar with applying ABA principles in the 'natural' environment• Strong clinical skills, demonstrated experience in working with children and their parents to reinforce therapeutic process• Flexible, collaborative self starter, motivated to help students achieve their potential, and a proven track record of success in similar settings.
