Meet Nala: Enjoying The Simple Things In Life
Nala is a 6 yo female Cairn Terrier who came to CRUSA from a Pennsylvania shelter. The shelter reports that Nala came from a puppy mill. As former mill dogs, she is shy and is still learning to be a pet and to enjoy grass, good food, clean water, baths, grooming, walking on leash and playing with toys and other dogs. Nala's Foster Parents are still working on her house training and improvement has been made, but, it does take time for mill dogs to learn the ropes. Nala is such a sweetheart, when you look into Nala's big eyes you can see the fear she feels but now also a little happiness. Like most puppy mill dogs if you move too fast, she will bolt or freeze in fear so you have to move slow around her. Just a Little More, Please
Nala likes to sit to the side and watch the other dogs most of the time. She is learning to play but she is cautious of what is going on around her. She does like to be rubbed and will let you know she is not satisfied yet by talking to you or tapping you with her paw. Dinner Time Success
Nala has moved to eating in the dining room with her Foster Canine Siblings which is a big step for her. She gets so excited and even barks at her Foster Dad when she thinks he is not moving fast enough for her when it is dinner time. Nala is getting closer every day to coming when her name is called. Nala is also getting better with the walking on a lead but still needs work. Up-To-Date
Like all CRUSA dogs, Nala is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm disease, is micro-chipped and is on a monthly heartworm preventative.
