THIS IS THE STORY THAT WAS GIVEN WHEN I MET THE PEOPLE WHO SURRENDERED MINI TO ME:
Mini was brought into and surrendered to the shelter. The excuse for surrendering the dog was because the owners son was having very bad allergic reactions to her. Mini is super cute & super sweet. Her owners told me she was 3 years old. She is not house broken but is wee pad trained. She gets along great with other dogs, cats and small children. Mini has had a rough start to life and has been passed around several times during her short life thus far.
Her current owners were given Mini by another woman who could no longer take care of her and that woman was given her by yet another previous owner. Her recent owner had her for 3 months and during those 3 months had no issues with her at all whatsoever. She lived with a 9 year old sweet little girl and got along great with everyone in the family. She barks when the doorbell rings or she hears someone outside but apart from tat, she is a quiet young lady.
She is a purebred Yorkie so she will be in great demand but we are looking for a great FOREVER home for Mini so if you are looking for a fu-fu dog as an accessory, don’t bother to inquire about Mini. We are searching for an outstanding and wonderful home for this precious little gem.
24 HOURS LATERNOW FOR THE TRUTH:
The forensic science tells the real story. After a visit to the vet, it became quickly apparent that Mini has been extremely neglected for MANY years and I suspect that is why she has been sloughed off from one owner to the next. Firstly, Minnie is 7 years old, not 3, as had been stated by her owners. Mini has many health issues. Mini has a grade 3/4 heart murmur, ear infections in both ears, ocular clouding/nuclear sclerosis in one of her eyes, several mammary tumors, many rotten & heavy tartered teeth that need to be extracted as well as a few missing teeth. If this poor girl had been spayed instead of used & abused as a breeding Yorkie and then just handed off to the next family aournd the corner or in the park, she wouldn’t have mammary tumors. This is what happens when you don’t spay or neuter your animals. It may or may not have turned into a pyometra which means the area has an infection growing as well.
So Mini has some health issues that she needs help with. They are not life threatening yet, however the combination of health issues that Mini has incurred concurrently has put Mini in a situation where she may not be able to be treated. She has a grade 3/4 heart murmur and therefore may not be capable of being sedated or anesthetized to deal with her mammory tumors and rotten, decayed teeth. So we have our work cut out for us and Mini needs an extra special person who will help her, love her & care for her. If she makes it past this crossroad and her heart murmur doesn’t get worse, Mini could have another 7-8 years of life left. Good Lord willing!
Mini is not spayed and may not be able to be spayed due to her grade 3 heart murmur. Mini has been dewormed, treated to prevent fleas & ticks and is up to date with all her vaccinations.
