We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 10 years of structural design experience on public facilities.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Daily tasks include drawing development, coordination between disciplines, internal meetings, and structural design.Develop structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for renovations and new construction of public housing,schools and rail facilities.Perform site inspections and condition assessments of existing buildings and projects under construction.Coordinate between various disciplines, develop contract drawings and specifications.Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering.Building restoration project experience is a plus.Minimum 10 years of experience.Understanding of NYC/NY state Building Codes.Knowledge of construction drawing standards.Full understanding using STAAD, SAP, RAM Steel is required.AutoCAD and Micro station a plus.REVIT (or the ability to quickly learn).MS Project and MS Office Suite including PowerPoint.Excellent communication and writing skills and can handle simple to complex projects across a varied staff.Attention to detail and highly organized.Self-starter, able to work independently and multi-task.Knowledge of building envelope structural componentsHAKS is an established, fast-growing and multi-disciplined engineering, architectural, construction management, land surveying and material testing firm headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Albany, Ossining and Melville, NY; Iselin and Mount Laurel, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; Fairfax, VA; Middletown, CT; Boston, MA; Providence, RI; Miami, FL; Houston, TX and an international office in Bangalore India.HAKS offers a competitive wage, bonus incentive, complete benefits package, including 401(k) plan with Company match and opportunities for growth.
