HAKS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Architect with a successful track record executing public architectural projects and/or higher education design experience. In this position, you will collaborate with our Facilities Design Management and Project Managers to develop appropriate design solutions, provide design support for completion / execution of design concepts, prepare construction documents (drawings, specifications & cost estimates), resolve design issues, analyze design options and execute projects through the construction administration phase of the project.The individual will be working with the project team to complete assignments timely and with great quality to meet our client expectations. Resolves technical/design issues to maintain progress and quality control. Communicates between project team and consultants. Assists in assuring the project meets building codes (local & state), budget, and meets all necessary deadlines in order to fully meet client expectations.This individual will be required to assist on business development and proposal writing.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:• Work with the Project Manager(s) and project team (s) on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and construction documents.• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.• Implements one or more projects through the management of project teams.• Assist in negotiating fees and contracts for projects.• Manage scheduling, budgets, project team staffing, project set-up with sub-consultants, vendors and contractors.• Track financial performance of project.• Assist in developing the strategy for producing the documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work.• Technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.• Monitor the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring a consistent and well executed design idea.• Assist in planning, making adaptations and modifications to complete the working drawings.• Responsible for communication verbally or in writing with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.• Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards.• Work collaboratively with the Department’s Leadership Team.• Prepares proposals and participates on business development activities.Requirements:• Minimum of 10 years of experience on architecture projects or relevant experience in the US.• State Licensure Architect.• Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as a part of a project team.• Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes.• Strong organizations skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.• Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.• Excellent written communication skills.• LEED accreditation is a plus.•HAKS is an established, fast-growing and multi-disciplined engineering, architectural, construction management, land surveying and material testing firm headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Albany, Ossining and Melville, NY; Iselin and Mount Laurel, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; Fairfax, VA; Middletown, CT; Boston, MA; Providence, RI; Miami, FL; Houston, TX and an international office in Bangalore India.HAKS offers a competitive wage, bonus incentive, complete benefits package, including 401(k) plan with Company match and opportunities for growth.
