My client needs an Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator with a background or interest in manufacturing. This company is a manufacturer of aerospace parts. As a division of a public company, they provide a generous pay scale and good benefits. You should have a broad knowledge of Federal, State, and local safety and environmental compliance rules. You should also have knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety engineering principles, and work toward reducing accident hazards and exposures in the company. This job is located on Long Island. Relocation assistance is not available. You must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident to work at this company. You will help identify or evaluate hazards condition, develop controls, procedures, and accident prevention programs, and measure their effectiveness. You will identify and report to management issues about environmental compliance or safety. Prepare compliance reports in accordance with EPA, OSHA, and quality standards. Study equipment to determine potential risks and hazards. Review laboratory, production, or experimental processes that may involve materials with flammable or properties. Bachelors’ degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering or similar is required. You should have a year or two of experience in occupational health and safety. You should have detailed knowledge about safety engineering principles, OSHA rules, occupational health hazards, and methods of chemical detection. Should be familiar with training programs in key areas such as Lock Out / Tag Out, machine guarding, electrical safety, confined space, and hazard communications.
